Therese is the managing partner at McKenzie Law Firm, PA—a local law firm established in 1976 by her late father-in-law, Jim McKenzie. The current focus of her practice is exclusively devoted to divorce and marital law.
Native to Sweden, Therese has lived in Pensacola since 2014. At the age of 16, she moved with her family from Sweden to Boca Raton, Florida. She went on to study at Florida Atlantic University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in International Business & Trade.
Therese met her husband, J. Alistair McKenzie, a Pensacolian, when they both attended law school at Florida International University College of Law in Miami. She went on to graduate law school with honors in the top 10% of her class, earning several exceptional awards for her writing and orator skills!
Post-graduation, Therese worked for a law firm in Miami, focusing on insurance defense and commercial litigation. Her husband returned to Pensacola to practice with his dad at McKenzie Law Firm. After they graduated law school, Alistair and Therese remained close friends. It was just a few years later that Alistair popped the question and FINALLY convinced Therese to move to our beautiful city of Pensacola! It is here that they plan to make their forever home.
In addition to practicing and running a law firm, Therese currently serves on the Florida Bar’s Grievance Committee for the First Judicial Circuit. She is a member of the Florida Bar’s Family Law Section, as well as the Escambia-Santa Rosa County Bar Association.
