About the Performers

Chet and Jessi Truett are most certainly stepping out of their norm joining Life’s A Dance, as they are a family of science! However, my hypothesis, that is sure to become a theory, is that this family of science is about to become a family of dance as well!!

In 2006, Chet and Jessi were married and quickly joined by their amazing children Shalela, Phillip, and Robert. When they moved to our beautiful city of Pensacola, Florida, Ollie and Cy were welcomed into the Truett crew making it the most fun family EVER! And that fun continues on and further unifies when their granddaughter, Henley, was born in 2022 🤗

Chet was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama. He moved to Pensacola, Florida in 2008 continuing his career as a devoted science teacher. He now serves as Lead 12th Grade Academic Adviser for the students at Escambia County Virtual School. He is committed to ensuring the students of Escambia County achieve their goals in Education.

As an avid biologist, Chet teaches biology through interactive courses fostering his students’ love for sciences. This is incredibly evident in his own children, as he always engages them in hands-on learning activities 🔭🧪⚗️

Jessi is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst who serves as Andrews Research & Education Foundation (AREF) Director of Research & Development. She also is an adjunct professor at the University of West Florida in the Center for Behavior Analysis, defying the concept of time, as she somehow has more time in her days/nights! 😆

Jessi loves and adores her Pensacola community and demonstrates this in her plethora of volunteer roles and various capacities: including Baptist Women’s Foundation, Autism Pensacola, Inc, the Escambia County School District, member of Gulf Breeze Rotary Club, and board member of Pensacola MESS Hall. Jessi is also a member of the Greater Pensacola ChamberLeadership Pensacola (LeaP) Class of 2023: the ‘MOST’. At any given time, Jessi can be found serving our furry friends at the Escambia County Animal Control & Shelter through the Krewe of Hip Huggers, of which she has been a member for three years.

On a national level, Jessi is using her devotion to science to further Dr. James Andrews’ mission: to promote excellence in orthopedic interventions and the prevention of injuries through education and research. Jessi is also an active member in promoting excellence in the Bio Skills community through the ABLE – The Association for Bioskills Laboratory Excellence! Is there anything this dynamic duo cannot do?!
